President Museveni Directs Investigation into Electricity Instability in Kalaki and Kaberamaido

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the National Resistance Movement party has ordered a special probe into the persistent electricity power outage in Kalaki district.

On Friday, 31st October, 2025, while addressing thousands of charged supporters at Kalaki Primary School grounds, Museveni outlined clear instructions aimed at accelerating development projects in the area.

Responding to widespread complaints about unstable electricity in Kalaki and Kaberamaido, the President ordered an investigation into old transmission lines that cause power fluctuations.

“We shall get to the bottom of this. Power must be stable because electricity is wealth,” he said.

The president alos expressed displeasure over reports of shoddy work and delays by some government officials.

“When we fail to do our part, we are cheating ourselves. This homeland is the only one we have,” he warned, sending the crowd into wild applause.

Museveni pledged to support the proposal of creating a new constituency to be named Otuboi County in the next financial.

Museveni revealed that funding has been secured for the long-awaited Katine–Ochero road, directing the Ministry of Works to fast-track contractor selection without excuses.

He also announced that once additional financing is secured, the road will be extended all the way to Amolatar and Dokolo.

He further highlighted significant progress on the Soroti–Amuria–Obalanga–Otuke–Abim road corridor, and confirmed that the Buyende–Kagwara–Kaberamaido ferry is already operational pending finalization of landing sites.

The president directed his office to investigate why the former Arrow Boys, auxiliary forces were not paid.
