The Police in Mityana District are carrying out an investigation involving an accident that claimed the life of Mr Joseph Mary Nsubuga, the LC3 chairperson of Myanzi Sub-county in Kasanda District, leaving two female teachers injured.

The accident occurred on 26th Tuesday, August 2025, at 2 PM along the Mubende–Kampala highway in Mityana Municipality.

The accident was between a black Toyota Noah (registration number UA 010AR) and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle (registration number UDP 918K).

It’s said that Nsubuga, 55, who was riding the motorcycle, wanted to make a U-turn on the highway.

The Toyota Noah, approaching from the same direction, rammed into the motorcycle, killing him instantly.

“The rider attempted an abrupt U-turn in the middle of the highway, which gave the driver of the Toyota Noah no time to react. The impact was fatal,” said SP Racheal Kawala, Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson.

After the collision, the Toyota Noah veered off the road and overturned, injuring two passengers: Rose Nabukalu, 25, and Florence Namigade, 27, both teachers at Good Mummy Primary School in Bukuya and residents of Bukuya Town Council.

They were rushed to Kambo Medical Centre in Naama for treatment.
