Government Moves to Improve Motor Vehicle Registration Efficiency

Edward Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works and Transport, has held discussions with stakeholders in the motor vehicle industry and key government agencies aimed at improving coordination and efficiency within the vehicle registration sector.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda Investment Authority and the Uganda Police Force to address concerns affecting the industry and identify practical solutions.

According to the Ministry, the engagement focused on resolving system bottlenecks, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and improving transparency and efficiency in the motor vehicle registration process.

Stakeholders also discussed ways of streamlining operations to enhance service delivery and create a more effective registration system for motor vehicle dealers and the public.
