Inside the Rumoured Return of NTV Uganda & Daily Monitor: A New Direction as UBC Lite Mode

Share:

Speculation continues to circulate that NTV Uganda and the Daily Monitor could resume operations within the next two weeks, with claims that the media houses may return under a different editorial direction.

Among the rumours is that UCC could announce details relating to the outlets as early as Monday. Other claims suggest the developments followed a meeting between President Yoweri Museveni and the proprietor on Sunday, and that the media houses could adopt a more government-friendly editorial approach—described by some commentators as an “UBC Lite” model.

There are also verified reports that some editors, producers and other senior newsroom staff have been meeting security to align them to a UBC Lite Model.
