Inspire Coffee Group has confirmed that American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson will headline the second edition of the Africa Coffee Marathon in Ntungamo district this October.
The event will celebrate Uganda’s coffee industry under the theme “Empowering the IK Community of Karamoja through Coffee Farming to End Poverty.”
According to the official coffee marathon website, Gibson will perform on October 3, 2026, marking one of the largest international celebrity engagements in the country’s coffee sector.
Nelson Tugume, founder of Inspire Coffee Group, also revealed that football star Tim Weah, a United States national team player and son of former Liberian President George Weah, will attend the festival as a guest, highlighting the growing international profile of the event.

The Africa Coffee Marathon, funded in part by government support for the multibillion Uganda Coffee Park project, aims to combine entertainment with advocacy for coffee farming and community empowerment.
Gibson’s performance is intended to draw wider attention to Uganda’s coffee sector and showcase efforts to uplift the IK community through sustainable farming practices.
The festival will also feature local artists, coffee showcases, and community engagement activities designed to educate and inspire both coffee producers and consumers.
Organisers say the event offers a platform for Ugandan coffee farmers to connect with investors, international visitors, and media while enjoying a world-class entertainment experience.
