Police attached to Jinja Road Police Station have arrested six suspects during an operation targeting shops believed to be dealing in stolen vehicle parts in the Kiseka area of Central Division.

The operation, conducted on March 5, 2026, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, involved a search of several shops suspected of trading in stolen motor vehicle property within Kampala.

Police say the suspects were found in possession of various items believed to have been stolen from vehicles. Among the exhibits recovered during the operation were old vehicle grills, side mirrors, motor vehicle number plates, spotlights, headlamps, and baby side mirrors.

Authorities noted that the recovered items will be used as evidence to support ongoing investigations into suspected vehicle parts theft and illegal trade in the area.

The suspects have since been charged with receiving and retaining suspected stolen goods and are currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station pending prosecution.
