Liberty Uganda Turns Christine Nampeera’s Viral Tweet Into Real-Life Solution

What started as a lighthearted tweet has now reshaped Uganda’s insurance conversation.

A fortnight ago, socialite and digital influencer Christine Nampeera (@nampeera_) posted playful photos of herself with a new car, cheekily asking her followers: “Which body deserves the most protection? My body, my car body, or both?”

While many laughed it off as just another influencer moment, Liberty General Insurance Uganda saw something deeper—a reflection of the everyday motorist’s dilemma.

On Wednesday, Liberty Uganda, together with Stanbic Bancassurance Agency and SafeBoda, launched Protecta Bode, an innovative and affordable motor insurance product designed for ordinary drivers who want more than just the statutory third-party cover.

Unlike traditional policies that either fall short or feel out of reach, Protecta Bode offers both affordability and peace of mind. Priced at only 1.5% of a vehicle’s market value, it covers third-party liability, external vehicle damage, and driver injuries—bridging the gap between basic and comprehensive insurance.

According to the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), financial constraints and mistrust of claims have kept many Ugandans away from adequate motor insurance. Protecta Bode directly responds to these concerns by offering a simple, transparent, and accessible package.

The product will be distributed through Stanbic Bancassurance and SafeBoda’s SafeCar program, targeting not only car owners but also Uganda’s vibrant ride-hailing community.

In many ways, Christine’s tweet became the spark. Her lighthearted call for dual protection reflected a shared truth—that both our bodies and our rides deserve safeguarding. Liberty Uganda turned that moment into a movement, showing how a viral conversation can inspire real solutions for everyday challenges.
