The government is to distribute 4.8 million mosquitoes in the effort to control the spread of Malaria.

This is the second phase in this month of April targeting 32 districts.

This has been confirmed to the press at the Uganda media centre by the head of promotion and disease prevention agenda at the Ministry of Health, Richard Kabanda, saying that the campaign targets 8.1 million Ugandans across various districts.

The beneficiary districts include Katwakwi, Kalaki, Agago, Amuru, Gulu city, Gulu district, Omoro, Bukedea and Mayuge, among others.

Kabanda noted that the first phase that was carried out in January this year benefited over 3 million Ugandans from 20 districts; those districts that have missed the first and second phases have been listed for the next phase, which is May, July and September.

He therefore appealed to Ugandans to embrace other interventions of fighting malaria that include indoor spraying and slashing bushes around residential areas, among others.
