Nalutete, Mubende — A family in Mubende District is mourning the brutal murder of their four-year-old son, Kazungu Daniel, who was kidnapped from their home after criminals demanded a Shs 6 million ransom.

Police revealed that the family was only able to raise Shs 1 million, but the boy had already been killed before the money could be delivered.

The suspect, Emmanuel Muwanguzi, confessed to the abduction and murder, and was arrested in Kampala.

Authorities recovered the boy’s body, which is now at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Residents of Nalutete Village have expressed outrage and fear, calling on the government and police to take stronger measures to protect children.

The tragedy underscores growing concerns about the safety of children in rural communities and the rise of ransom-related crimes.

Police have urged anyone with information about criminal gangs to come forward immediately.
