Detectives have resealed the residency of the former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among in Nakasero and seized two additional vehicles as investigations into alleged corruption, illicit enrichment, and money laundering intensify.
The joint team of investigators returned on Wednesday afternoon to the Mackinnon Road property in Nakasero, where they resealed the residence and impounded a Toyota Land Cruiser (UBH 138W) and another vehicle (AA 630BE) for forensic examination.
The latest operation follows earlier searches conducted at Parliament, where detectives reportedly combed through the offices of the Speaker, Clerk to Parliament, and the Finance Department in a widening probe into alleged financial misconduct.
Sources indicate that during the weekend operation, investigators spent nearly two days at Among’s residence before moving to other properties, including her Kigo mansion, where additional luxury vehicles were reportedly seized for analysis.
The coordinated investigation is being led by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), with support from forensic experts, the Special Forces Command (SFC), and Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS), under a probe reportedly sanctioned at the highest level of government.
Security agencies are said to be examining suspected financial networks, procurement processes, and links between politically connected individuals across Parliament and government institutions. Although official agencies have remained largely silent on the ongoing operation, sources familiar with the probe say more assets and individuals could come under scrutiny as the investigation expands
