Ugandan singer and entrepreneur Sheebah Karungi has urged women to work hard, become financially independent and seek partners who can support their ambitions rather than depend entirely on men for survival.
In a post shared on her X account, Sheebah declared, “WE DON’T WANT MEN, WE WANT MONEY,” adding that women need men who build them up rather than those who depend on them financially.

The singer accompanied her message with photos of herself enjoying time at a sunny resort, posing in clear water with her arms outstretched.

Her remarks attracted mixed reactions, with some fans praising her for encouraging women to prioritise financial independence and self-worth, while others questioned her message and timing amid allegations of song plagiarism. The online exchange also featured sharp responses from the singer to some of her critics.

This is not the first time Sheebah has encouraged women to work hard and take responsibility for their financial well-being instead of relying on men to provide for them.
She has repeatedly emphasised that women should not be ashamed of starting small, arguing that what matters is making an effort to support themselves and their families.

Her latest post sparked a lively debate on social media, with several users agreeing with her message. However, some male users questioned her remarks, with others raising questions about motherhood and how she had her child.
