Media personality, real name Edwin Katamba, also known to many by his stage name as MC Kats, has come out and opened up about his life with HIV, speaking candidly about the personal questions he still carries years after his diagnosis.

In a recent interview, the outspoken TV presenter said that even after all this time, he still finds himself reflecting on how he contracted the virus and who may have been responsible.

Kats said he received his diagnosis during what he describes as the peak of his entertainment career, when he was constantly in the public eye and enjoying widespread popularity across media and nightlife circles.

“When I meet God, I want to ask Him who infected me with HIV,” Kats said.

Looking back, he admitted that the fast-paced lifestyle he was living at the time gave him a false sense of invincibility, making him less cautious about the health risks around him.

He also recalled that for years he suspected a particular encounter as the possible source of infection, but that assumption was later thrown into doubt after the person he had in mind reportedly tested negative, leaving him with even more unanswered questions.

Kats further reflected on how HIV testing has evolved over the years, noting that modern self-testing kits have made the process more accessible and private compared to earlier times when people had to rely entirely on visiting health facilities.
