Miss Tourism Uganda has signed a strategic partnership with EgyptAir in a move aimed at boosting tourism promotion and strengthening cultural ties between Uganda and Egypt.

The agreement, which officials described as a milestone for the pageant, is expected to raise the profile of Miss Tourism Uganda on the international stage while also supporting efforts to deepen bilateral tourism cooperation.

Under the arrangement, EgyptAir will provide air tickets to the winners of the 2026 and 2027 Miss Tourism Uganda editions to help facilitate travel and tourism promotion across borders.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the pageant’s Relationship Manager said the collaboration marks an important step in positioning Miss Tourism Uganda as a global tourism platform.

She noted that partnerships of this kind are vital in widening the reach of Uganda’s tourism sector and increasing its impact beyond the country’s borders.

EgyptAir Country Manager Kamal Ahmed said the initiative is expected to increase passenger traffic between Kampala and Cairo and could pave the way for more frequent flights between the two capitals.

He added that the partnership goes beyond travel promotion and will also create opportunities for young people through exposure and skills development.

The collaboration also enabled Miss Tourism Uganda Nachap and Man of Tourism Amuriat to join the Embassy of Uganda in Cairo, with special appreciation to Gen Angina, where they promoted coffee and tea at an inaugural expo aimed at strengthening relations with Egypt’s business community.

The Miss Tourism Uganda 2026 grand finale is set for September 4 at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

This year’s competition will be held under the theme “AI, Tourism and Culture,” highlighting the role of technology in promoting Uganda’s heritage and tourism sector.
