Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello has continued his remarkable form at Tanzanian giants Young Africans after being recognised for his outstanding performances during the month of May.

The attacking midfielder was named the club’s NIC Insurance Player of the Month following a series of influential displays that helped drive Young Africans’ success.

Okello enjoyed a sensational month, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in seven matches to register 10 goal involvements.

The award adds to a growing list of individual accolades for the left-footed playmaker, who was also named Footballer of the Month at the Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards.

At the Real Stars Awards, Okello beat Uganda Cubs captain Owen Mukisa and SC Villa forward Charles Lwanga to claim the honour. The award was received on his behalf by his agent, Sultan Atubo.

Since joining Young Africans from Vipers SC at the start of the year, Okello has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most influential players and a fan favourite.

His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with reports linking the former Uganda Premier League Most Valuable Player to several clubs abroad, including Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
