Police in Natete are holding a woman in connection with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in Wakaliga Zone B, Rubaga Division, Kampala.

According to the police, 32-year-old Nantongo Hadijjah stabbed her ex-lover, 43-year-old Ssebugwawo Mike, a 43-year-old mechanic, to death after he forced his way into her rented room in the wee hours of Thursday.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect and the deceased had previously been in a relationship but had reportedly separated about two months ago”, police said.

According to the authorities, at around 1:00 am, Ssebugwawo allegedly went to Nantongo’s residence after repeatedly calling her phone without receiving a response.

Upon arrival, he reportedly found the door locked while another man was inside the room.

It is alleged that the deceased forced his way into the room, which led to a physical altercation. During the fight, Nantongo allegedly stabbed him in the chest using a sharp, broken clay plate, inflicting fatal injuries.

Nantongo is currently held at Natete Police Station as investigations into the incident continue.
