For the thousands that graced the “Spinny & Friends” event last night, it was probably the best and biggest deejay event in Uganda this year.
The night attracted a huge crowd of music lovers, fellow DJs, influencers, and partygoers, all eager to experience a show curated by one of the city’s top spin masters and highlighted by Spinny himself marking ten years on the music scene.
Hosted at Mestil Hotel, the chilly evening could not stop party goers from supporting their best deejay.
The event began with mixes from deejays like Anselm, Selector Jay, Bugy, Bryan, Vanss, Edwizzy Selekta, Dash, Fem Deejay, Kash Pro and Sheila Gashumba alias Lil Stunner who all kept the crowd on their feet with a variety of mixes.
DJ Spinny, real name Joseph Kalisa, took the stage to a roaring welcome, delivering an electric set that fused genres like Afrobeats, dancehall, Amapiano, and Ugandan urban music.
Throughout the night, DJ Spinny kept the audience on their feet with flawless transitions, heavy drops, and nostalgic throwbacks that spanned his 10-year career. His set was both a celebration and a tribute to the sounds that shaped his journey behind the decks.
Despite the absence of two prominent South African deejays Jazzwork and Thukuthela who were the main supporting acts, the rest went as planned and they sent in their regards on video and audio mixes that were played during the event, adding a unique international touch to the celebration.
Of course Fenon Premium events came through and gave the event a world class perception with the sound, lighting, decoration and comfy seats throughout the VIP section.
