Vivo Energy Uganda officially launched its “Ebyakabi Nze Abirina #SityaMbeera” campaign Thursday, aimed at empowering the nation’s motorcycle riders with resilience and confidence.

The initiative highlights two Shell premium products, Shell Advance motorcycle engine oil and Shell FuelSave, designed to help riders maximize their journeys.

The campaign’s title, roughly translating to a powerful affirmation of self-belief, celebrates Uganda’s vital “boda-boda” riders, recognizing their role as “kapos” or “Lords of the streets” who drive the economy forward daily. Vivo Energy seeks to support these riders by providing solutions tailored to their demanding work.

Geoffrey Elyanu, Vivo Energy Uganda’s Supply and Distribution Manager, speaks at the campaign launch.

To participate, riders can purchase Shell Advance and text the unique code found under the seal, along with their motorcycle’s license plate number, to 6688. Vivo Energy plans to reward more than 10,000 riders with various items to support their operations.

Shell Advance, a globally trusted motorcycle lubricant, offers comprehensive engine protection even in harsh conditions like high temperatures, dust, and traffic. Its formulation includes active cleansing agents. The product is also a technical partner of Italian sport bike manufacturer Ducati, a collaboration that has seen significant success in MotoGP championships.

Complementing Shell Advance, Shell FuelSave uses Dynaflex technology to optimize fuel efficiency, allowing riders to cover more distance for less cost without sacrificing performance.

Beyond products, Vivo Energy offers rapid oil change services, an expanding network of rider-friendly Shell stations, and a loyalty program to reward customers.

“We understand the strength and determination of every rider who plays an important role in driving Uganda’s economy and connecting communities,” said Rebecca Nassiwa, Brand Manager – Lubricants at Vivo Energy Uganda. “Through the ‘Ebyakabi Nze Abirina #SityaMbeera’ campaign, we want to empower riders with the best Shell products and services, including dedicated service points, expert mechanics, and fueling stations, so they can take on every journey with confidence.”

Francis Kayoki, Lubricants Sales Manager at Vivo Energy Uganda, reiterated the protective qualities of Shell Advance. Geoffrey Elyanu, Supply and Distribution Manager, representing the Managing Director at the launch, emphasized the company’s dedication to growth. He stated that the campaign promises riders a winning combination with Shell’s products for powerful, uninterrupted, and peaceful rides.
