Suspect Arrested Over Attempted Robbery in Najeera

Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with an attempted robbery in Najeera, a suburb of Kampala.

According to KMP Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspect, Hussein Wagaba, a resident of Kayunga in Wakiso District, was apprehended on Friday, March 6, 2026, following the failed robbery attempt.

Owoyesigyire said Wagaba was intercepted by security after allegedly attempting to rob a victim in the Najeera area. Police responded swiftly to the incident, leading to the suspect’s arrest before he could flee the scene.

He noted that the suspect is currently being held in police custody as investigations into the matter continue. Authorities are also working to establish whether Wagaba could be linked to other similar criminal activities in the area.

Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies by reporting suspicious individuals or activities in their communities.

Further details about the incident are expected to be released as the investigations progress.
