The remains of legendary Ugandan musician Prince Paul Kafeero were exhumed on Monday morning, June 1st.

The court-ordered procedure aims to settle long-standing paternity claims involving more than 20 individuals who assert that the late music icon was their biological father.

The breakthrough was confirmed by the outgoing Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, who noted that the exercise marks a major turning point for the fractured family. Under the leadership of Assistant Inspector General of Police Dr. Byaruhanga, a team of pathologists successfully gathered the necessary DNA samples in strict accordance with forensic protocols and judicial directives.

These samples have been forwarded to the Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory for definitive scientific analysis.

Minister Barugahara expressed optimism that the upcoming results will finally bring clarity, peace, and closure to a family that has been divided for decades. He extended his gratitude to the judiciary, the forensic teams, the Uganda Police Force, and the cooperative family members for making the complex operation possible. Additionally, the minister disclosed that he personally funded the entire exercise to ensure that justice, truth, and harmony could finally prevail.

Prince Paul Kafeero remains an enduring giant of Ugandan music, with a timeless catalog that continues to captivate audiences long after his passing.

The impending DNA results will conclusively dictate whether the multiple claimants have a rightful, biological claim to the late star’s lineage and heritage.
