Kampala, Uganda: Police at Kira Road Division have launched investigations into a case of aggravated robbery and murder following the death of a 24-year-old businesswoman and social media content creator in Kyanja, Kawempe Division.

The deceased has been identified as Namulinde Diana, who was living alone in an apartment located in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward.

According to police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of February 3, 2026.

Her body was discovered the following day after concerned friends went to check on her and found her apartment open. Preliminary findings indicate that she was murdered by strangulation.

Police say a security guard attached to the premises was arrested earlier on suspicion after he was reportedly found in possession of items believed to have been stolen from the deceased.

Some of the recovered property was later identified by investigators as belonging to Namulinde.

A team of homicide detectives and Scene of Crime Officers visited the residence, documented the scene, and collected several exhibits to support ongoing investigations.

Authorities have also recorded statements from multiple witnesses.

So far, police have identified three suspects, with two already in custody to assist with inquiries.

The body of the deceased was conveyed to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

Police say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing.
