Nsangi, Uganda:  Nsangi Police have carried out a large-scale operation across Kyengera Central, Nabaziza, Masanda, and Kinaawa, arresting 32 individuals suspected of theft, robbery, and other criminal activities affecting local residents.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the operation targeted the increasing insecurity in these communities, particularly during nighttime hours when residents had been most vulnerable.

Luke Owoyesigyire, Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Police Spokesperson in Kampala, said investigations into the arrested individuals are ongoing.

“We have begun questioning the suspects. Those without sufficient evidence will be released, while others will face charges in court,” he said.

Police reports indicate that the suspects were involved in multiple crimes, including stealing from homes and along roads, physical assaults, and taking valuable items such as mobile phones and cash.

Local residents expressed relief following the raids.

“We have lived in fear for a long time, especially at night. The police operation has restored some peace in our neighborhoods,” said one resident of Kyengera.
