In a heartfelt and emotional revelation, Uganda’s promising R&B star Victor Ruz, real name Wajja Victor, has come forward to voice his growing frustration with his management, whom he accuses of suppressing his music and stalling his career.

In a video currently making rounds on social media, Victor Ruz poured out his heart, revealing that despite working tirelessly in the studio and collaborating with various artists, none of the music has seen the light of day. The 2023 single “Tattoo” was the last track officially released with the backing of his management, led by Manager Joseph Zamba.

“I have no problem with my management, and I thank them for being with me the whole time. We have been working, but it was not yielding because we have not been releasing the music. We do not have any serious issues that prevent us from releasing the music. I just don’t understand why,” Victor shared, visibly disheartened.

Despite the absence of personal conflict, Victor claims repeated attempts to communicate with his manager have been ignored, leaving him feeling directionless and creatively trapped.

“I’m just there, and it is silly not to know your next move. I can’t go on like this. All I want is for us to drop and promote the music we used to do,” he pleaded.

Victor Ruz has become a beloved figure in Uganda’s music scene, especially among the youth, due to his soulful lyrics and unique voice. Tracks like “Nsembeza” and “Finally” featuring Gloria Bugie, which he released independently, have only been shared without the typical promotional support of media tours or interviews, a testament to his solo effort amidst the managerial silence.

This recent outcry isn’t just a personal appeal—it’s also an explanation to fans who have been wondering why the young star has seemingly gone silent. Far from abandoning his craft, Victor says he continues to write and compose every day, driven by a divine gift that he feels is being wasted.

“I want to give my fans the music, but they do not want the music to be there. It is not my fault. I compose every day. I thank God for that, but the gift that God gave me isn’t being used rightfully. I’m not recording the music for myself; the gift has to be shared with the entire world. Is that too much to ask?” he asked passionately.

Victor’s courageous decision to speak out reflects the internal battles many artists face, where creativity meets corporate control. His message is clear: he’s ready to share his music with the world, but he needs the barriers to be lifted.

As fans rally behind him on social media, the hope remains that Victor Ruz finds a path—whether with new management or through full independence—that allows his voice to be heard, his songs to be released, and his talent to shine as brightly as it was meant to.
