President Museveni has said Uganda’s steady progress depends on unity between citizens and the government, with each playing a role in building the nation’s prosperity.

Speaking during a rally in Kibuku District, Museveni said the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government’s first and most important achievement has been peace, which has made possible the defeat of cattle rustling and other conflicts.

“Because of peace, we have been able to build roads, electricity, schools, and hospitals,” the President said. “But development alone is not enough; every family must enter the field of wealth creation.”

Museveni noted that the government is upgrading health centres such as Nabiswa, Kituti, and Nakodo to Health Centre III level, and reinforcing free education to improve service delivery.

He emphasized that jobs are a product of wealth creation at all levels — individual, family, and company — adding that Uganda’s future lies in maintaining peace while empowering citizens to generate wealth.
