KAMPALA — Two of Uganda’s most controversial public figures are set to come face-to-face on Tuesday evening as activist and media host Nyanzi Martin Luther aka Mr. Apex interviews outspoken politician Abraham Luzzi on NUP Speaks, a broadcast already generating intense public debate.

The live interview, scheduled for 6:00 PM on 23 December, will air on Block FM 103.2, Homeboyz Radio UG, and Voice of Kampala FM, bringing together two personalities known less for caution and more for confrontation.

A Collision of Controversies

Nyanzi Martin Luther, a youth activist and media entrepreneur, has built a reputation for challenging established political figures despite his young age. His blunt questioning, public criticism of senior politicians, and refusal to defer to authority have repeatedly placed him at the center of national debate. Supporters view him as a fearless voice for youth participation, while critics argue he is overly confrontational and provocative.

Across the table will be Abraham Luzzi, an independent political actor whose rise has been marked by sharp rhetoric, unconventional proposals, and frequent online clashes with both government and opposition figures. Luzzi has attracted a loyal following for his strong positions on economic reform and governance, but his style has also drawn criticism from those who consider his approach disruptive and polarizing.

Not a Friendly Conversation

Unlike routine political interviews, this encounter is widely expected to be tense. Both men are known for dominating conversations and refusing to retreat from difficult questions. Observers say the interview could quickly turn into a battle of ideas, personalities, and credibility — with neither side likely to back down.

Political analysts note that the exchange represents more than just an interview; it reflects a broader struggle within Uganda’s political space between emerging activist voices and non-traditional political actors who operate outside established party structures.

Public Interest Peaks

With both Nyanzi and Luzzi commanding strong — and sometimes hostile — followings, anticipation is high. Social media discussions ahead of the broadcast suggest many listeners expect a direct confrontation rather than scripted talking points.

Whether the interview produces clarity or deepens divisions, it is unlikely to be ignored. As one analyst put it, “When two controversial figures meet live on air, the outcome is rarely neutral.”

The nation will be listening Tuesday evening as Nyanzi Martin Luther and Abraham Luzzi finally face each other across the microphone.
