Honourable member of Parliament for Nakaseke South, Paul Lutamaguzi, will not be returning to parliament following his loss to NRM’s Charles Kavuma Nsereko in hotly contested elections held last week.

The outgoing Member of Parliament for Nakaseke South, Luttamaguzi Semakula, has now declared that he will never participate in any election as long as the NRM government remains in power, citing la ack of justice and systemic electoral manipulation.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Flavia Namulindwa, Luttamaguzi said he has completely lost faith in Uganda’s electoral process, claiming his victory in the just-concluded election was forcefully stolen.

“There is no justice in this country. I won that election resoundingly, but my victory was snatched from me like an eagle snatching a chick. As long as elections are organised under this regime, participating in them is pointless.” He explained.

Lutamaguzi further accuses Gen. Salim Saleh, the president’s brother, of influencing his defeat, a claim that adds to ongoing opposition allegations of military and state interference in electoral processes.
