The Corporate Sports Network games at the Maroons Sports Grounds in Luzira on Sunday were an entertaining affair, with Hotel Africana emerging the biggest winners.

The 8th outing on the CSN calendar saw companies compete in football (normal and 35+ games), netball finals, woodball and fun games (3-legged race and the sack race).    However, the medal haul on the outing saw Hotel Africana win most medals on the evening.  They defeated the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) in the netball finals and won gold.

The Hoteliers, led by their manager James Baker, were in spirited form as they won the tightly contested game of woodball. This victory not only boosted their morale but also solidified their reputation as a formidable force in the tournament.

Hotel Africana, DTB Bank, and Vision Group won gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Hotel Africana emerged top with 140 strokes, while DTB Bank was second with 143 strokes. In third place was Vision Group with 149 strokes.

In the individual men’s sack race, Equity Bank bagged gold, Centenary Bank won silver and transmitters, and UETCL won the bronze medal in one of the hotly contested races.

In the individual women’s sack race, UETCL won gold and was followed by Mogo Loans and Dummen Orange in that order.

In the 3-legged race that attracted intense competition and photo finishes, UETCL won gold by a mile, followed by DFCU Bank and Centenary Bank in third. Organisers had to rely on photographic evidence to choose the winner between Centenary Bank and Royal Van Zanten.

Organisers revealed that whereas the individual winners were given their medals, the winning teams will be awarded with trophies at the grand dinner gala slated for December 6 at Hotel Africana.
