In celebration of International Women’s Day, Finance Trust Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to community development by supporting vulnerable children at Noah’s Ark Children’s Village Uganda, a home dedicated to caring for physically challenged children.

As part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to mark the day, Finance Trust Bank donated food and essential household supplies valued at approximately UGX 10 million to support the home’s daily nutritional and hygiene needs. The donation included posho, rice, beans, groundnuts, cooking oil, sugar, soya porridge, bread, tissue paper, pampers, and cleaning supplies such as soap, all intended to improve the welfare and living conditions of the children currently under the care of the home.

The initiative also highlights the Bank’s commitment to supporting women-led initiatives, particularly those that focus on the well-being of children and vulnerable communities. Speaking during the visit, Ms. Annette Kiggundu, Executive Director of Finance Trust Bank, emphasized the importance of supporting organizations that care for children and uplift communities.

“At Finance Trust Bank, we strongly believe in supporting women, especially those who dedicate their lives to serving vulnerable children. Children are very delicate members of our society — they need love, care, and a supportive environment to thrive. We deeply appreciate the incredible work being done here at Noah’s Ark Children’s Village to nurture and protect the young lives of these physically challenged children.”

She added that the Bank recognizes and celebrates the dedication of the home’s founder and management, particularly on a day that highlights the achievements and impact of women. “Ms. Nakato Angella Hellen who runs the day-to-day operations of Noah’s Ark Children’s Village, laid a foundation that still continues to transform lives. Today the home cares for physically challenged children who are deserted by their parents, and we commend the team for the remarkable job they are doing. As a women-led bank, Finance Trust Bank believes in supporting initiatives that resonate with our values of compassion, empowerment, and community development.”

Noah’s Ark Children’s Village Founder and Director Nakato Angela Hellen expressed appreciation to Finance Trust Bank for the support. “We are grateful to Finance Trust Bank for remembering the children during this special day. The donated food items and supplies will go a long way in supporting the children’s daily needs and ensuring they continue to grow in a safe and nurturing environment. She further stated that it has not been easy but organisations like Finance Trust Bank empower her in driving her agenda and seeing to it that the physically challenged children manage to live a normal life.”

Finance Trust Banks (FTB) initiative aligns with the Bank’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability agenda, which focuses on promoting inclusive development, supporting women, and strengthening communities across Uganda. Through initiatives such as this, Finance Trust Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering communities and improving lives, particularly among vulnerable groups.
