NUP presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine, addressed thousands of residents in Oyam and Omoro Districts on Thursday, calling on citizens to participate in a “protest vote” as a path toward establishing a government truly accountable to the people.

During the rally, Bobi Wine encouraged supporters to remain steadfast despite what he described as ongoing political repression.

He framed the gathering as part of a constitutional duty to challenge the current government and install leaders who serve the public.

“In a new Uganda, the government will be people Centred. So we e rally you people of Oyam to be part of the protest vote if they are to be assured of an effective people-centered government with servant leaders,”

He urged people not to give up but to keep pushing toward liberation, noting that the time is now.

“Do not to break down even as we undergo repression, renain firm and domt stopon whateveryou’redoing thats the onlyway we shall liberate our countryfrom Museveni rule”

“We have a constitutional duty to legally uproot this regime and put in place a government that will be constituted by the people, for the people and of the people,” he said.
