Police at Old Kampala Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding a murder incident in Bakuli, Kampala Central Division, where a 34-year-old boda boda rider was allegedly killed following a dispute between two individuals reportedly linked to rival football supporters.
The incident occurred on 24 May 2026 at approximately 6:30 PM, according to preliminary police findings.
The deceased has been identified as Denis, a resident of Bakuli who was engaged in boda boda work within the area.
Preliminary findings indicate that Denis, who was reportedly a supporter of Arsenal F.C., got into a misunderstanding with a man identified only as Musiramu, who is alleged to be a supporter of Manchester United F.C..
Police say the disagreement reportedly began as a verbal exchange before escalating into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly struck Denis on the head, causing him to collapse and die instantly.
Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene and efforts to trace and arrest him are ongoing.
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
