Ugandan music veteran Bebe Cool has been nominated for the coveted Timeless Impact Award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), standing as one of only two East African artists recognised in this category.

Renowned Ugandan artist Bebe Cool has received a significant nomination for the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), specifically for the prestigious Timeless Impact Award.

This nomination places the Gagamel Entertainment CEO among a distinguished group of ten legendary African musicians. He is set to compete with industry heavyweights from across the continent, including Nigeria’s Timaya, Flavour, and Kcee; Ghana’s Sarkodie; South Africa’s Oskido and Mafikizolo; Egypt’s Amr Diab; Zambia’s Slapdee; and Kenya’s Nameless.

The Timeless Impact Award is designed to honor artists whose careers have profoundly influenced and shaped the African music scene over various generations. AFRIMMA highlighted that this year’s nominees represent a diverse range of musical genres and regions, from Afrobeats and Highlife to Kwaito and Afro-pop, celebrating artists whose work continues to inspire.

Each nominee has cultivated a lasting legacy through decades of hit songs, significant cultural impact, and consistent contributions to the growth of African entertainment. Their achievements extend beyond chart success, playing a crucial role in elevating African music globally.

For East Africa, Bebe Cool and Kenya’s Nameless are the sole representatives in this esteemed category, underscoring the region’s lasting influence on the continent’s music landscape.

This recognition arrives at a moment of considerable career success for Bebe Cool, following the recent release of his popular seven-track EP, “NO RISK.” The project, which has garnered significant airplay and streaming numbers in Uganda, fuses Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggaeton, and R&B with a distinct Ugandan flavor. It follows his well-received 2025 album, “BREAK THE CHAINS.”

With a career spanning over two decades, Bebe Cool has transitioned from a dancehall pioneer to one of Uganda’s most influential musical ambassadors. The AFRIMMA 2026 ceremony is scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas, and voting is expected to commence shortly, with Ugandan fans anticipated to rally behind their acclaimed artist.
