Singer Dax Vibez has dismissed reports that he deliberately skipped Vinka’s concert because of her political views, saying an emergency prevented him from returning to the venue on the day of the show.
Vinka held her much-anticipated concert on August 21 at Lugogo Cricket Oval, where she performed for her fans. Dax Vibez, who has a collaboration with the singer, was reportedly present for the soundcheck but did not return for the main show.
His absence sparked speculation on social media, with some people claiming that he chose not to perform because of Vinka’s political affiliations.
However, Dax has denied the claims, saying there was no disagreement between the two artistes.
“No one stopped me from attending the show; they didn’t stop me from collaborating with Vinka in the beginning. Why now? I just couldn’t make it on that day because I got emergencies that needed my attention,” Dax said.
The singer explained that after realising he would not be able to make it back to Lugogo Cricket Oval, he contacted Vinka to explain the situation.
He said the two artistes communicated on WhatsApp and cleared up any possible misunderstanding, insisting that they remain on good terms.
“We talked on WhatsApp and wished her the best, and she took it. There were a lot of things going on in the media, and her team called me in the morning. We spoke and harmonised, and there was love,” he said.
Vinka was consequently left to perform their collaborative song without Dax, further fuelling speculation about his absence.
Dax, however, maintained that his failure to appear had nothing to do with politics or any disagreement with Vinka, but was simply a result of the emergency that required his attention.
