In a swift managerial shake-up, Sports Club Villa has appointed Serbian tactician Milincic Nemanja as its new Head Coach, just hours after confirming the departure of Morley Byekwaso by mutual agreement.

The club announced Milincic’s appointment on Thursday evening, describing it as the beginning of a “new era” at Villa Park.

“S.C Villa, the record champions of Ugandan football, are delighted to announce the appointment of their new Head Coach, Milincic Nemanj, with immediate effect,” the club said in an official statement.

Milincic brings with him over a decade of high-level coaching experience, backed by UEFA Pro, A, B, and C licenses.

He previously served as Assistant Coach for the Bulgarian national team during the 2022/23 season and has worked with several top-tier European clubs over the course of his career.

His arrival follows shortly after the club’s announcement that it had parted ways with former coach Morley Byekwaso, in what was described as a mutual decision reached in the best interests of the club.

Byekwaso’s exit was confirmed by SC Villa President, Mr. Omar Ahmed Mandela, who expressed gratitude for the coach’s commitment and service during his time at the club.

Despite being a former SC Villa player, Byekwaso’s position was not spared following the team’s disappointing finish in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, where they placed 6th in the standings.

Appointed in 2023, Byekwaso guided the team through multiple domestic campaigns and was widely commended for instilling discipline and structure during his tenure.

The club thanked Byekwaso for his dedication, professionalism, and efforts, noting his positive contribution to the club’s progress during his time in charge.

With Milincic now officially at the helm, his immediate focus will be preparing the team for pre-season, evaluating the current squad, and integrating new signings as Villa looks ahead to a stronger campaign.
