President Yoweri Museveni is set to deliver the State of the Nation Address to Parliament and the nation today.

President Yoweri Museveni will today present the State of the Nation Address to Parliament, outlining the country’s current status and future outlook. This significant address marks the beginning of the first session for the current President and Parliament.
Mandated by Article 101 (1) of the Constitution, the President is required to deliver an address on the state of the nation at the commencement of each parliamentary session. This year’s address holds particular importance as it signifies the start of the 1st Session of the current Parliament.
The sitting, scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM, will take place at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. Due to ongoing public health guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of Ebola, attendance at the event will be limited. Only Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, and a select group of invited guests will be present.
For the wider public to engage with the President’s address, arrangements have been made for broadcast. The event will be streamed live on various radio and television stations, as well as through online platforms across the country.
