A vibrant mix of music, culture, and global collaboration took centre stage in Kampala as the Bridges & Beats Concert delivered a high-energy showcase during the international Francophonie Month festivities.
Hosted at Kingdom Kampala, the event brought together diverse audiences for a night that celebrated artistic expression and cultural exchange, blending African rhythms with global influences in a seamless live experience.
The concert was organised by Talent Africa Group in partnership with Alliance Française Kampala, with a mission to promote the French language and Francophone identity while connecting it to Uganda’s dynamic arts scene.
Inspired by this year’s theme, “Activating your Francophonie,” the event reimagined cultural engagement through a modern, interactive concert experience that appealed to a wide audience.
Revelers were treated to an exciting lineup from the very start, as DJs Rocky and Lavet ignited the atmosphere with energetic mixes. The celebration of heritage followed, with the Impundu Cultural Group and the Royal Drums delivering powerful traditional performances that highlighted Africa’s rich storytelling traditions.
As the night progressed, performers including Doch Dodava and Blac Queen kept the crowd engaged, while Ssewa Ssewa and Prof Joewi impressed with a creative blend of contemporary and traditional sounds. Strong vocal displays from Aliddeki Brian and Tracy Melon added depth and emotion to the evening’s performances.
The highlight of the night came when Elijah Kitaka took to the stage, commanding the audience with an electrifying set that brought the show to a memorable close.
Cecilia Ovonj, Cultural Project Manager at Alliance Française Kampala, noted that the event reflected the true essence of Francophonie.
