Mbarara – Alumni of Mbarara High School have formally petitioned the Ministry of Education and Sports, raising concerns over deteriorating academic performance and alleged mismanagement of school assets, including land.

The petition calls for an independent investigation into the school’s administration and a review of the current Board of Governors.

The former students claim that poor oversight has contributed to a decline in academic standards, threatening the school’s historic reputation.

“The quality of education at Mbarara High School is declining,” the alumni group said. “We urge the Ministry to intervene and safeguard the school’s future.”

Officials at the Ministry have acknowledged receipt of the petition, though no immediate action plan has been announced. The Board of Governors is expected to respond following the Ministry’s guidance.
