Munyagwa Says Opposition Politics Does Not Suit His Personality

Former presidential candidate Mubarak Munyagwa has opened up about his frustrations with being in the opposition, saying it is not where he naturally belongs.

‎The Common Man’s Party leader made the revelation on Tuesday while appearing on Sanyuka Television.

‎“I am big-headed, I value my freedom, and for that to work, the president has to be someone you can relate with and be free around,” he said.

‎He added that his position in the opposition is largely circumstantial.

“Honestly, I am tired of being in the opposition. I am in opposition because of circumstances, not because I love it. With my personality, I cannot stay in opposition. I want a president who is my friend.”

‎In the recent presidential elections, Munyagwa received 31,666 votes, amounting to 0.29% of the total.

‎“I received a few votes, which I accepted, but on average, I got about five votes per polling station,” he said, reflecting on his electoral performance.

‎He noted that his support was stronger in certain areas.

“There are districts where I performed better. In Kitagwenda, for example, I came second, and I even received DR forms,” Munyagwa explained.
