Events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, popularly known as Abitex, is enjoying a major financial boost after receiving government support for Uganda’s event organizers.

Through a promoters’ SACCO, the government disbursed significant funds, reportedly over UGX 10 billion in total across the sector—to help revitalize businesses hit by challenges in recent years. These loans come with low interest rates and require repayment, ensuring accountability while providing much-needed capital.

Abitex, who serves as a key figure among promoters nationwide, confirmed he has already utilized part of his share productively.

“I have already put part of the money to use, and it’s the same story with other promoters,” he stated.

Notably, he has cleared all service providers for Geosteady’s upcoming concert, the first event in years he is staging without relying on money lenders.

This marks a positive shift for his operations at Abtex Promotions.

Geosteady’s highly anticipated Valentine’s Day concert is scheduled for February 14, 2026, at the prestigious Sheraton Gardens in Kampala. The romantic event promises a special live performance by the artist, with tickets already on sale with regular entry at UGX 100,000 and premium tables for groups available.

Abitex expressed optimism that the government-backed funds will enable smoother, debt-free promotions across the industry, benefiting artists, crews, and fans alike.
