President Museveni who is also the NRM presidential candidate has told the people of Terego in West Nile that they wakeup and create personal wealth to get out of poverty.

He said whereas development is a government responsibility, it will not chase way poverty.

“Kampala has got a lot of development in form of hotels and  tarmac  roads  among other but nearby is poverty in some of the homes. That’s why from the 1960s we have been telling people that get out of poverty as development is ours. This stadium here is development and is ours but poverty is personal and private. Do you sleep on the road or stadium or health facility,” Museveni said.

“Tarmac roads don’t chase poverty. Even if you have a tarmac road, when you go back home, poverty will welcome you and say, I am still here. “
