Robert Kyagulanyi, the National Unity Platform (NUP), has demanded that Ugandans to vote for him into office in the 2026 general election, saying that the country needs young and better leadership.

Speaking to his supporters yesterday at Kaala Playground in Nateete, Kyagulanyi said that Uganda’s problem is not about poverty but rather is the poor leadership, which he says has made Ugandans slaves in their own land.

Bobi Wine also asked the people to engage in the elections by voting for him and also urged them that he would serve people and promote democracy and development in Uganda.

According to Joel Ssenyonyi, the leader of opposition in Parliament and also the spokesperson for National Unity Platform, he called upon Ugandans to vote for Kyagulanyi, saying that his leadership will address all the problems they are facing, like unemployment, which has made many young people seek jobs outside Uganda.

Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, said that she would address the challenges facing women in the country if she became the first lady.

The rally in Nateete was guarded by the Uganda Police and the army. At 3 pm, a heavy downpour occurred, by the crowd never moved, but rather stayed till Bobi Wine came to address them.
