Equity Bank Uganda took part in the Corporate Sports Network event on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Luzira Prisons Grounds as over 40 companies competed in various sports activities.

The second season of the CSN, themed “Networking through Sports,” featured football, basketball, darts, netball, volleyball, and fun games at the home of Maroons Football Club. Equity Bank Uganda was among the new teams joining the 2025 season.

The bank’s employees competed in multiple sports, following their company motto “We don’t just support sport. We live it.” Teams battled in football, basketball, darts, netball, volleyball, and activities like sack races, with darts being added as a new sport this season.

In football, Equity Bank’s team competed on the 7-a-side pitch where teams were required to include at least two female players. The football category saw competition from defending champions Centenary Bank, along with teams like Absa Bank, Uganda Bureau of Statistics, and Electricity Regulatory Authority. Specific match results for Equity Bank were not made available.

On the basketball court, Equity Bank faced competition from teams including MTN Uganda, who had previously scored 40 points to dominate the basketball category in 2022. Exact scores from Sunday’s games were not disclosed.

The newly introduced darts competition, added due to demand from CEOs and top managers, saw Equity Bank’s staff test their skills in the precision-based game. Specific rankings for the darts competition were not released.

The event brought together returning champions Centenary Bank, who won the 2024 title, alongside newcomers like Autochek Uganda and Kyambogo University. Other teams included Uganda Red Cross, Uganda Revenue Authority, and Hotel Africana, which won the overall title in 2022 with 326 points.

The CSN season includes events at venues like Mandela National Stadium, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, and Makerere University Business School, with an awards dinner planned to recognize top performers.

While complete results from July 27 were not fully reported, the event continued the CSN’s approach of bringing corporate teams together through sports competition.
