Renowned events organizer Norbert Twezire, widely known as Nobat Events, is currently being detained at Nateete Police Station after turning himself in to respond to a series of serious allegations.

Sources reveal that police had issued summons for Nobat several days earlier, but he requested more time because he was engaged in NRM campaign activities. When he finally reported to the station to provide his statement, officers immediately placed him under arrest.

It has since been confirmed that Nobat is battling 12 separate cases, most of which were filed by some of Uganda’s biggest music names. Eddy Kenzo is said to have registered eight complaints, Jose Chameleone filed three, while Mariam Tindatine lodged one.

The accusations include defamation, verbal attacks, and spreading harmful falsehoods about the artists. Tindatine’s complaint stems from statements Nobat allegedly made about her character and conduct.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Spokesperson of Police Kampala Metropolitan, “Nobat’s statement will determine the next course of proceedings. We are still investigating the matter, and he is being detained to aid investigations.”

Nobat remains in police custody as investigations intensify and more details continue to unfold.
